There is no center seam!
The flat compressive fit has completely changed my confidence and ability to wear exactly what I want. I lovingly refer to these thongs as my armor. The way that flat, compressive front pulls everything in just makes it work for me. It’s empowering and liberating to have a piece of lingerie that feels this functional and affirming.
Wide Gusset: Designed specifically to support tucking, the thong accommodates a range of preferences—whether fully tucked, partially tucked, or relaxed. That said, the wider gusset does sometimes become uncomfortable.
Where other thongs are much thinner, the width can be an issue for prolonged wear. I’ve learned it’s more about how you wear the garment than the garment itself, and now I wear them all day without issue. However, in the beginning, I did find them uncomfortable after hours of wear.
Soft, Moisture-Wicking Fabric: The buttery-soft material keeps you comfortable all day, reducing chafing and ensuring breathability. The quality of the fabric is stupendous. Both the construction of the garment and the material itself are exceptional.

That, and having my first child, but I digress.

At first, I wasn’t really aware I needed this in my life. It took me a while to get ready for it. Take that as my own personal thing, but I warmed up slowly.
I owned gender-inclusive underwear for over a year before it really clicked. There was a lot of hesitation—partly because I wasn’t sure how it would fit into my life and partly because of my own internalized doubts.
Then all of a sudden something clicked, it was like something shifted. I felt an alignment with my body and presentation that I hadn’t experienced before.
It simplified the process of achieving a desired silhouette, making daily wear more comfortable and affirming. And the Urbody Thong? It stands out for its comfort and functionality, making it a key part of that realization.
Areas for Improvement
While the Urbody High-Waisted Compression Thong is a fantastic product, there are a few areas where I think it could be even better.
Sizing Challenges
I have other products from Urbody Co in a size medium, like their leggings, which fit perfectly. I also have their leggings in a small, which works, but the medium is ideal for me in that product.
However, I have another thong (not high-waisted) and their gaff in medium, and both feel too big. I purchased their lace thong in a cute purple color in a size small, and it’s lovely but doesn’t offer the same compression.
It’s perfect for me in a small, but I believe the high-waisted compression thong might be better for me in an XS—which doesn’t make much sense based on my sizing in other products, but here we are! I currently have it in a small, and while it’s amazing and I love it, I think I’d adore it even more in a smaller size.
Expanded Color Options and Multi-Packs
At $39 per thong, they’re on the pricier side. For the value, I’d love to see Urbody Co expand their catalog with more colors and patterns, as well as offer value packs of three or five.
I currently have their red, purple, and black colors, but I only have black in the high-waisted compression thong. I’d love to own more, but unfortunately, the other colors are often out of stock.
I understand they’re a young and growing brand, and I’m sure managing a supply chain is stressful, but I’d honestly buy so many more of these thongs if they were consistently available.
Is that a gripe or a compliment? Maybe both!
